Where and How to Partner Locally and Globally This Holiday Season
In a season when generosity is at an all-time high, it can often feel challenging to know where and how to make a difference. There are many quality organizations that are doing important work all over the world. This season, we’re highlighting three that make a difference locally and globally.
Its mission since 1911 has been to foster stability and self-sufficiency for Bellevue’s children and their families through programs that feed, clothe and educate. The Adopt-A-Family program matches sponsors with families in need to help ease the financial stress of the holiday season. You, your family or your company can shop and spread the generous joy of the holidays to a local family in need. BellevueLifespring.org.
Since 1978, New Horizons has partnered with youth experiencing homelessness in Seattle to exit the streets and find a sustainable lifestyle. Every night in King County, homelessness disconnects more than 1,500 youth from the resources they need to survive and thrive. Just $1 a day provides a bed for homeless youth to get off the streets. For just $30, you can change the course of a young person’s life for a month by connecting them with supportive relationships and sustaining, empowering resources. NHMIN.org.
This trailblazing organization believes that everyone should have the opportunity to live free. Headquartered locally in Kirkland and working internationally, Rescue Freedom’s philosophy of training using local partners and advocacy works to end human trafficking for millions. You can start your own campaign, pick an idea and set people free with the finances you create together. For example, love holiday parties? Throw one, and use their online system to have attendees give while attending. Every dollar you generate goes directly to end human trafficking. RescueFreedom.org.
