A Day in the Life of a Master Jeweler

People can be very particular when it comes to what they wear, but even more so when it comes to jewelry. Artist and master jeweler Kia Fanaeian knows this all too well. Kia is part owner of Diamonds Inc., located on Main Street in Old Bellevue, and precision happens to be one of his greatest strengths.

He specializes in diamonds, yellow and pink colored diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds, but works with all types of stones and materials. Watching Kia work makes it very clear that he is extremely detail oriented and dedicated to making sure his clients’ needs are met.

“The majority of my work are custom pieces,” he shares. “People want something that nobody else has.”

Kia works hard to do just that. The master jeweler brings almost a lifetime of experience and passion to Diamonds Inc. He learned the art of jewelry design in Iran, working in his father’s factory, and also by teaching himself. He moved to the United States 17 years ago, furthering his experience at Nique Design Jewelers, until landing at Diamond’s Inc. with a greater stake in the company.

Kia’s typically starts his days casting the jewelry, but his routines constantly change to meet the constantly changing needs of clients. He can spend anywhere between one to three days or more on one design and can also get through several designs in just one day. The art dictates the time and the amount of commitment. What does not change, however, is Kia’s pledge to see each vision through.
