Ground Broken on Luxury Condos in Downtown Bellevue

Bosa Development broke ground on One88, a new luxury condominium building, in September. Located at 120 Bellevue Way NE, One88 will be a 21-story building with 143 one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom and penthouse units. Sales of the units are expected to begin in early 2018 and the building, designed by Amanat Architect and Hirsch Bedner Associates, is expected to be completed in 2020.

Sugar Factory Now Open in The Shops at the Bravern

Sugar Factory, the popular celebrity sweet spot has opened its first West Coast location in The Shops at the Bravern. The company says it has “made confections part of popular culture and turned sweets into the latest designer accessory.” The new store is a combined 9,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and includes the company’s first chocolate lounge, which will also offer up doughnuts from pastry chef Max Santiago.

The grand opening event, held in early September, featured an appearance by Mariah Carey, who was there to promote her candy line.

The candy store will feature Sugar Factory’s signature couture pops and other candy, while the restaurant’s signature menu will feature “everything from pancakes and sweet and savory crepes to salads, burgers and pizzas, all available throughout the day,” according to the company’s website. Also on offer will be Sugar Factory’s signature 36-ounce alcohol-infused smoking candy goblets.

Nordstrom Rack 
Opens in Lincoln Square

Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. opened a 43,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack store at the Lincoln Square Expansion in September.

Nordstrom Rack is part of the 1.5 million-square-foot expansion of The Bellevue Collection, which currently includes Bellevue Square, Bellevue Place and Lincoln Square, the portion under expansion. Lincoln Square Expansion includes office, retail, dining and entertainment space along with a 244 room W Hotel and 218 luxury high-rise rental residences.

The new store is the eighth Nordstrom Rack in Western Washington. The company also operates six Nordstrom stores in the area, including the Bellevue Square location.

“We have long felt that expanding Nordstrom’s presence at The Collection would be synergistic for all our retail and restaurant offerings and are delighted that with the expansion of Lincoln Square, we were able to find this location for Nordstrom Rack,” says Kemper Freeman, CEO and chairman of the board of Kemper Development Company.
